Presidents Message
WOW! three years that your elected officers have been in office.
Looking back we had to make some hard decisions such as pulling two races on
one trailer. Mixing other races into our schedule (The SEO) were some of
things we did to keep us afloat but now with the help of Big Pigeon Race the
future is looking better and better and we still have over $1800 in the
treasury and that is more then were started with 3 years ago.
Going forward we will be flying in stronger competition and at the
same time generating income for our organization. It will be just a matter of
time before we own a truck that can carry birds and pull the 2000 bird
trailer.
This year we are looking at flying fees of $140 if the trend continues
with flyers returning, Old birds 2011 flying cost will be much lower.
This year 2010 there is no
need for GNCC Dues. We are OK with just flying fees
Happing now
The big pigeon race is putting together
50 baskets once that is done they will have a value of about $5000
Yes $100 each try building them and
you will soon see why they are worth $100 each.
We have 51 baskets
booked for the "BPR" and looks like it the next 43 will be going soon.
One of the questions while we were building the baskets was "What
schedule will we be flying this old bird season and how much will it cost?"
This has to be voted
March 27th exit 174 short 78 miles, Long 190 miles
April 3rd Hickory Short 121 miles, long 217
April 10th Old Fort NC short 173 Long 263
April 17th Hickory
April 24 SEO or 400 mile or both depending how the vote goes
May 1st Old Fort
May 8th Hickory
May 15th the Big pigeon race
This is 8 races for a total cost of $140,
Only one basket per flyer for each race, 25 bird limit if you want a
second basket it will cost $70.
After the new year we will have a meeting and we will need put
together some more baskets.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
